The Sunday Post

The Sunday Post — June 28th, 2015 | #16

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Last week on the blog:

What I read:

  • 5 to 1 by Holly Bodger. Interesting book, definitely a really good read, but I was left wanting more…

Soon to be reviewed:

EDIT: Click on a title to read my review.

  • The Heir by Kiera Cass. 3 stars. As expected, Kiera Cass’s newest Selection book was equally frustrating as it was addicting. I have love/hate relationships with all her books.
  • 5 to 1 by Holly Bodger. 3 stars.

Currently reading:

I have a feeling The Wrath and the Dawn will be what I finish next. But I seriously need to finish Alive and The Killing Season ASAP. Like, I’m going to try to finish them before I start any new books.

The library haul:

Here’s what I picked up from the library this week.

  • The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh.
  • Tiny Pretty Things by Sona Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayton.
  • Illusionarium by Heather Dixon.
  • Magonia by Maria Dahvana Headley.
  • Crimson Bound by Rosamund Hodge.
  • The Cage by Megan Shepherd.

A Thousand and One Nights retelling! Ballet! Steampunk! Fantasy world up in the sky with bird-like people?! Red Riding Hood retelling! Aliens! Four of these books I featured in Waiting on Wednesday posts, so I am super pumped to get to read them finally!

  1. Ahh, 5 to 1! I love that book a lot 🙂 I wish you had loved it more, but I do agree that it reads a little too short… definitely could have used more development, for one, but I really thought it was a great and refreshing dystopia so I gave that one 5 stars 😀

I’m curious to know your thoughts to Wrath and the Dawn. I read that one not too long ago and wasn’t too pleased with it, but it seems like it’s one of those book you’ll either love or feel luekwarm to. And Crimson Bound and Magonia are amaaazing. Hope you love them!
