The Sunday Post

The Sunday Post — June 14th, 2015 | #14

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

The week in review:

  • On SUNDAY, June 7th, I posted last-last week’s Sunday Post.
  • On MONDAY, June 8th, I posted my review of Bone Deep by Kim O’Brien. 3 stars. Really interesting, gripping thriller.
  • On TUESDAY, June 9th, I posted my reviews of Daimon by Jennifer L. Armentrout and None of the Above by I. W. Gregorio. (Whoo! Two reviews in one day? I’m awesome!) Daimon is a short story and a prequel to Half-Blood; I gave it 3 stars. None of the Above is a fantastic book about an intersex girl that I think everyone should read. I gave it 5 stars.
  • I also received a review copy of Blue Karma by J. K. Ullrich! Emma from Em Does Book Reviews loved this book, and I have high expectations after reading her review. The author was so kind to offer me a review copy. Thanks, J. K.! I’ll be reading it super soon!
  • Additionally, I checked out some books from the library: Elixir and Apollyon by Jennifer L. Armentrout, Warrior and King by Ellen Oh, and The Novice by Taran Matharu.
  • On WEDNESDAY, June 10th, I posted my Waiting on Wednesday for Rebel Mechanics by Shanna Swendson.
  • On THURSDAY, June 11th, I posted my review of Material Girls by Elaine Dimopoulos. 3 stars. Very interesting read about a futuristic fashion industry.
  • I also picked up MORE books from the library (I have a serious problem, I know): 5 to 1 by Holly Bodger and Uprooted by Naomi Novik.
  • Additionally, I just realized that I completed my fifth 105 Challenge category — category #14: fantasy books! A Court of Thorns and Roses was the fourteenth book in the category, and I actually finished reading it on Saturday the 6th… I just didn’t realize it until Thursday the 11th, haha.
  • On FRIDAY, June 12th, I posted my review of A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. 5 stars! THE FEELS! AAAAAGH! *SOBBING IT WAS SO GOOD.*

Soon to be reviewed:

  • Pure, Deity, Elixir, and Apollyon by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I think I’ll do individual reviews for all of these. Or I might do a collective review post. We shall see.

  1. Not reading anything at the moment (I have so many books to choose from haha) but I did just finish The Wrath and the Dawn — which I LOVED. What did you think of the Jennifer L. Armentrout series? I thought it was a little too similar to Vampire Academy in some instances, but it was still enjoyable. (Though I’m yet to finish the series.) Great wrap up!

    1. I haven’t read the fifth and last book yet, but it’s a really enjoyable series with crazy twists and cliffhangers, be warned, and a nice take on Greek mythology. The protagonist gets a bit tiresome after a while, especially since I marathoned three books and a novella in a row, but there’s lots of humor and some of the supporting characters are awesome. 🙂
